Sakuraba Isumi, a pint-sized culinary whiz with a youthful face, and Amasawa Kyosuke, a tall, affable police officer, find their paths intertwined in the most unexpected way. A mistaken identity incident, where Isumi is nearly apprehended by Amasawa for appearing underage, sets the stage for their unconventional romance.
Their worlds collide again at the convenience store where Isumi works part-time. Amasawa, drawn to Isumi’s recommendations for late-night snacks, becomes a regular customer. Concerned for the officer’s dietary habits, Isumi extends an invitation to cook for him at his home. As they share home-cooked meals, a tender connection begins to blossom.
